ROCK IN THE BOX CD RELEASE PARTY

Crash Mansion: This was for Rock In The Box; a 2 day event which featured all of the best Phil-Am bands around. What can we say? Crash Mansion is like our home away from home and as always we blew the doors off the place. Mike was out of town and we just couldn’t pass up an opportunity to play such a big event, so we had our good friend Dom sit in on drums. A little nervous at first, but by ...[Read More]

ROCK MACHINE IN STATEN ISLAND

DJ Alex at L’amours, who has been known to spin DR from time to time, organized the whole night. We shared the stage with ZO2, Hybrid Dawn and Black Water Rising. To thank him for booking such a great night, we invited Alex to play drums on “Don’t Mind Me.”

8/11, 8/18 & 8/25 – ARLENE’S GROCERY RESIDENCY

We’ve had a very good relationship with Arlene’s since the get go, so we decided to do a weekly residency. Each week had a bigger crowd than the last and we took the opportunity to play some brand new songs including “NYC” and a cover of “Outshined” by Soundgarden.

GOTHAM ROCKS AT SIX FLAGS, GREAT ADVENTURE

This was the second Gotham Rocks show and Diablo Royale’s first outdoor show. We delivered a strong show fresh off the heels of the night before and received a great reception by the crowd. We definitely took the opportunity to hit a few rides. Kingda Ka wasn’t working, so we hit Nitro just before closing. Guess which one of us hasn’t been on a roller coaster in over 10 years.

7/25 – 7/27/08 – A WEEKEND OF FIRSTS

This past weekend was a big one for us. On Fri night, We played in Lancaster for the first time at Chameleon Club which the likes of System of a Down have played, making it the best venue in the area. Then on Sun, we won the New York fliptup.com Rock Slam Contest. During our set, 500 fans from the crowd in New York and fans watching live in the Philippines voted for us, and we were named the winne...[Read More]

TRASH BAR IN MORE THAN JUST NAME

This was the perfect show to wrap up a good round of gigs. We hit the stage with our friends from NJ, Hostel Inc at Trash Bar in Brooklyn. As you can see below, the audience took the name of the bar quite literally. We’ll be back on stage in August at Great Adventure and Crash Mansion.

CEBRATING SWEETLEAF’S BIRTHDAY WITH INK

This was our second trip to Connecticut, and keeping with the birthday theme of the weekend, we were celebrating Jason’s with our good friends, INK. It was a great show at Cook’s Cafe despite almost getting lost. You see, the main entrance to Cook’s is behind a fire house and the back is on the main street. So when we pulled up and saw an empty storefront with a locked door, we t...[Read More]

THE DIRTY PEARLS TURN 1

The Dirty Pearls asked us to play their one year anniversary show and we were happy to oblige. Those guys know how to rock. The Compulsions were also on the bill. It was a strong night of rock bands we hadn’t played with before. Great night.

ROCK ASYLUM WITH JON POPPER

Another great Asylum is the short version. The longer version, is we kicked off a great night. Airiel Down came up from North Carolina and played a killer set. Then came ZO2 who had a surprise guest, Jon Popper of Blues Traveller. That guy can still kill it on the harmonica. Hollywood Hangover and Receptor closed out a great night.

GOTHAM ROCKS – Sullivan Hall

This was our first showcase and what a show it was. We shared the stage with 8 great bands competing for some great prizes. We walked away with a free online marketing campaign from musicsubmit.com. And the fans were treated to a night of solid rock bands from NY, DC and PA. We can’t wait for the next one at Six Flags in August.

Ohio & Erie, Round II

ZO2 asked us to play with them in Erie on 5/10 so we decided to make a weekend of it and hit Cleveland as well. We played our first acoustic gig at Record Revolution, a record store in Coventry where they now stock our CD. We went straight to the Hi-Fi from there and met up with our friends in Psych ER. We went to Erie the next day and between us and ZO2, gave them a heavy dose of NYC. It was a gr...[Read More]
